Reinhard Zmölnig, born 1976 in Villach in Carinthia, received his first piano lesson at the age of
four, the first horn lessons at the age of nine.
He studied at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna with Prof. Roland Berger and
Mag. Thomas Jöbstl. Since 2003 he is hornist of the Wiener Volksoper.
He is a member of quintet qWIENtett, as well as of the horn ensemble the Matterhorns and as a
substitute in all Viennese orchestras, as well as in the Brucknerorchester Linz, the Camerata
Salzburg, the Australian Chamber Orchestra and the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra Stockholm. He
also plays regularly with the Ensemble Kontrapunkte as well as with the Ensemble die reihe.
Since 2001 he is a regular guest musician of the Klangforum Wien, since 2008 member of the
Ensemble Wiener Collage.
